The National Museum of Ethnology holds the most important national ethnographic heritage.

Its collections, of over 40.000 objects, represent more than 380 cultures, throughout 80 countries and 4 continents, with highlights to the African, Asian and Amerindian cultures, as well as the traditional Portuguese one.

The great diversity of the collections can be discovered not only in the permanent and temporary exhibitions, but also in the museum's storage rooms, accessible if previously booked to visitasguiadas@mnetnologia.dgpc.pt
